"No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." -Walt Disney, 'Cinderella'

Who am I?
I am so glad you asked!

My name is Kaleigh Nicole Smith. My name was inspired by the celtic word 'ceilidh' (which means 'dance') referencing my family's Scottish heritage and the time my dad spent serving a mission there. I am the second oldest in my family and I love to write, dance, study, and daydream. I love really good stories, magical experiences, traveling to historically rich places, listening to beautiful music, and creating fun memories as well. I also love the color blue, history, Abraham Lincoln, Doctor Who, Cinderella, hexagons, red roses, Beauty and the Beast, bow ties, Disneyland, books, film music, family, temples, castles, Dr Pepper, rhinestones and I could go on forever. I just have a lot of favorites, and my list grows longer with each passing day. I love life and I love living it.
What Have I Done?
So what have I done in my four years at Williamsburg?
I've created so many experiences and fun times that it's hard to fit it all in so small a space, but I've put down some of the most memorable:
-
Attended an online school (that's crazy enough to be on here--right?)
-
Served as Student Body Vice President for the 2016-17 school year
-
Achieved a spot on the top competitive dance team at my studio for both Junior and Youth age levels
-
Hosted the first official Burger Meets (SO much fun)
-
Attended Utah Girl's State 2016
-
Won several first places at the national dance competition in Idaho (check out some videos here)
-
Vacationed to Boston with my family (most beautiful place I have ever seen)
-
And, most importantly, received an amazing education here at Williamsburg Academy

WHAT IS MY FUTURE?

I am enrolled in the American Studies bachelors degree program at Brigham Young University (Provo) and currently plan to pursue a Ballroom Dance minor as well. After one year there I plan to serve an 18-month LDS mission.

When I've finished my bachelors studies at BYU, I wish to pursue a masters or doctoral degree at Harvard, Yale, or some other graduate school. With this education and training, I want to become a teacher and a ballroom coach. Other goals include writing a book series, traveling the world, and having my own family.

WHo TO THANK?
Oh my goodness there are so many people who have helped and led me on my path through high school, I don't know where to start.
Thank you so much all of my friends, family, and teachers who have supported and encouraged me. Thank you, Dj Sproul, for being my best friend, rescuing me from those nasty physics equations, and coming to all of our study sessions--it's been a blast. Thank you to each of my mentors, especially Mr Brown, Mr Hailstone, Mrs Cowles, Mrs Kirk, and Mr Rees, for teaching me what you know, pushing me to work harder, and helping me become who I am. You guys are amazing. Thank you to my siblings--Morynn, Andrew, and Max--for helping me with my projects and loving me. I love you guys so much. Thank you to my mom and dad, Jayme and Steve, for trusting me, sending me to Williamsburg, staying up super late to help with homework, and believing in me. You are the best parents in the entire world.

I am going to miss Wiliamsburg Academy so much!
