Jarom Barager

I have been homeschooled my entire life. My mother taught me most everything when I was younger and also taught me how to seek out knowledge for myself. Teaching me to read was probably single most important thing she taught me to do.

I found out about Williamsburg through my mother. I was skeptical at first but it did not take long for me to fall in love with this school. I maintain that this school is perhaps one of the best things to ever happen to me in my entire life. Through it I have made lifelong friends, found great mentors, and achieved a high level of learning that I believe is unmatched by any other educational institution in our country today.

This school gave me the opportunity to learn in a flexible yet structured fashion. It has helped me to grow as an individual by requiring me to take responsibility for myself and for getting my work done. This is a school that forges leaders and I can never thank my mentors enough for the impact they’ve made in my life.

Elevation in particular is something that every student attending this school must go to at least once. It’s a very special experience and if you go more than once you’ll come to view Crawdad Canyon as a second home. You’ll form friendships there that transcend the bounds of distance. You’ll also find that people are a lot shorter or taller than they look on camera.

My plans moving forward are to attend UVU and then to join the United States Air Force. I do hope to start a family eventually but my primary goal in life is to dedicate myself to the defense of this nation and all the freedoms and blessings held therein. I’ve learned a lot about who I am and how to interact with others during my time here and the skills I’ve learned will no doubt serve me well.

Leaving is bittersweet. But as stage one comes a close, stage two is just beginning.
