Hi! As you probably already guessed, my name is Daria Flake. Yup. You read that right, my last name is Flake. Don’t worry, I get it a lot.

 

I guess a great place to start is at the beginning. So, here it goes...
 

I started attending Williamsburg Intermediate when I was 13 years old. My brother had been attending the Academy for a year when the intermediate school started and he really enjoyed the experience. So, I became a guinea pig for the intermediate school. It was an absolute blast!

After attending that for a year, I moved up into the high school. The years I have spent here have been hard but SO rewarding. I have been challenged to learn in ways that I didn’t think I could and did want to. I have come to love my education. As corny and homeschooler

esque  as it sounds, I read Shakespeare and Supreme Court cases for fun. (Yeah, I have issues...) I have come to love my education and learning in general.

Cool Things About Me

1. I am the first girl in my family and the second child.

2. I have five younger sisters and one older brother.

3. I moved to, AZ my senior year, but Northern CA will always be my home.

4. I love all kinds of music. I play the violin. I’ve been playing for about 11 years.

5. My favorite color is the color of the sky right before it rains.

6. I would prefer to do the dishes instead of the laundry.

7. WA Crush? -- WAIT. No one told me we were doing student spotlight questions...

8. The book that changed my life the most over the past year was The Chosen, by Chaim Potok.

9. If I could change anything in history, I would stop the French Revolution. (Ask me later...)

10. There will never be a time 18-month I am too busy to make cookies.

11. My favorite thing to do with my siblings is to argue with them and then make up and have a dance party in the livingroom. (There are refreshments afterward)

12. Favorite song is the theme to Schindler's List. (Look it up!)

13. I am going to be attending BYU-Idaho this fall and I am majoring in History I am SO excited!!

14. After attending a year of college, I plan to serve an 18 month service mission for my Church. I am WAY excited for that, too!

15. I can paint with all the colors of the wind.
