My life before Williamsburg was pretty simple. Being a gymnast, my day looks like: get up, do school, go to the gym and train for 5 hours, get home, do homework, go to sleep, wake up, repeat. When I started Williamsburg my daily routine didn’t change but my experiences and friends did. I made many close friends and I love them with all my heart. Before Williamsburg, I was just going through life. There’s not much else to say it was just life and it was good.
Some get to know me stuff, I love pickles. Dill. No other kind. I love to laugh and play, I love music, I am a strong believer that if you don’t smile once a day you have to at least fall asleep with a smile on your face. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard, and if you have talent with hard work then all the more power to you. Give more than you take and always look out for the little guy. I love long summer days, basking in the sun on the side of the pool. Cool summer nights and no worries, some would call this Hakunamatata. I have a dog that I love to the ends of the earth. My friends and family are some of the things I cherish most in this life. I can’t work computers to save my life. I struggle with homework and schooling because let’s face it, I am not meant to sit at a desk all day. Will I do it? Yes, because

I want an education. Is it me? No. If you looked up the definition of an athlete they should just throw my face up on Wikipedia. I love to play my guitar and sing. I have lived in multiple different states. I am a very passionate person and very intense. I love to help. I believe pictures paint a thousand words.
Although learning and school are very hard for me, I work very hard to do well and it has paid off and I couldn’t be more proud of what I have been able to accomplish through perseverance. One of my dreams is to be looked up to and be an example to people so that I can help them and for no other reason. I believe role models are very important and if I can be one to someone else that means that I inspire them to be better. To inspire people is a great honor.
I am LDS (Mormon) and I think that it is very important to have God in our lives.

I “found” Williamsburg when I saw how smart and how good of an education my older brother and sister were getting. Ever since then I had wanted to go to Williamsburg and get the education they got and I can confidently say that I have. There are so many things that I can take and apply to life. I have learned how to work hard under pressure and stress, which will help me know how to deal with tough situations. Williamsburg has given me more than just a good education, it taught me how to find an
education by coming up with a question then answering it yourself. Williamsburg has also been a period of growth for me as a person. Seeing things about my peers that I admire and want to have in my life. I think that as a whole Williamsburg is more than just a school. It’s a family. We are able to have deep discussions because they are encouraged. We get to delve deep into subjects and see things and ideas from different perspectives and that is very important. Knowing how to look at things from two, maybe three sides. Williamsburg is a very demanding school but if you keep up with it, the rewards will show.
I wasn’t at Williamsburg very long, only 2 years, but they were great years. I learned a lot of things about me and my style of learning. The education you get at Williamsburg is incredible. We learn things that we will actually use one day or that are of use now. I feel like I was really able to learn things with the way Williamsburg teaches. You also meet amazing people. Many of the friends I have made in my time here will be friends for life. These people push you to be a better and smarter student. They push you to be a better person and hold yourself to a higher standard. I want to say thank you to my family, mentors, and friends who helped me get through high school.

The advice I want to give everyone. LOVE LIFE. It’s hard to do school when you don’t like life. We get one life, one shot, one chance, so make the best of every single day. Are you going to have your bad days? YES. But you will also have days where you are in the stars. Anything is possible if you just believe in yourself. Live life to the fullest and be happy because you deserve to. We only regret the chances we don’t take, so take all of them. Live every day like it was your last and love every second of it because you won’t have that day ever again. I’ve had an injury that could have been potentially career ending for my gymnastics and my athletic life but I fought and came back strong. Live your life, and love your life. Always look for ways to make yourself better and improve,

always have respect and be humble. Never take anything for granted because you don’t know how long you’ll have it. School and life is easier when you love it.
“Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I think this is a really powerful quote. Be a pioneer, try something new, be YOU. It’s part of our elevated ethics at Williamsburg: Go first. I could give my interpretation of this quote but it doesn’t need that. It’s straightforward, to the point, and frankly I couldn’t say it better.

My plan for the future is to one day represent the USA at Worlds and the Olympics as a gymnast. I want to be on the national team and travel the world. After retiring from gymnastics I want to get a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy. I want to be the best person I can be. One day I want to get married, raise a family and live happily with them forever. The next years will shape the rest of my life. I’m scared, nervous, excited, and a whole bunch of other emotions mixed in there. I can’t wait
for this new chapter in my life and I'm dying to know what roads I'm going to take. Guess I'll just have to be patient and see. I can’t wait to turn the page and start writing this next chapter in my life.
