Annette Aiton

Hi, everyone!

My name is Annette Aiton, I am sixteen years old and super excited to be graduating! High school has been a blast and Williamsburg is truly the best place to go for it! I have learned so much in the past four years and I am happy I could learn through Williamsburg. Over these past four years I have had many adventures and experiences and to be moving on to the next one is a little scary and exciting at the same time. One of my favorite quotes is “The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams.” - Oprah Winfrey.

So a little about me, I am the third daughter out of six. ;P We always joke about how my dad only gets to watch chick flicks  :)

My Dad is in the army so I have moved all over throughout my life. First California, then Guam, Idaho, Hawaii, and I am currently in Kentucky. Each of these places has been exciting and new, and meeting lots of different people in each has been really cool. In my free time, I like to do a lot of different things. I like to read, hike, spend time with my family, coach gymnastics, do taekwondo, play basketball, etc…

Originally I was homeschooled by my mom until some of our friends introduced us to Williamsburg. Both of my older sisters began the program and a little later I began the intermediate program and loved it! I had spent time watching my older sisters go into classes and really wanted to do it myself so when my mom finally agreed
I was elated. Later on, I started the High School program and all four years just sped by in a blink.

One of the biggest reasons I was able to pull through High School is because of my family and particularly my Mom. My Mom was pretty awesome. She would always hit me with questions right when I least expected it, “Why are you three assignments behind? Do I need to start worrying?” or the usual one of “why do you have that score?!?!?!?” She has helped me work hard and strive to get the best scores and grades I could.

I would like to mention how grateful I am to all of my mentors and teachers. They have helped prepare me for college and the future, they have taught me so much, how to work hard, how to be a leader, how to believe in myself. THANK YOU!!! You are all awesome!

Some of the advice I would leave for others is to enjoy it. It will all go by so fast you will not even notice so make sure you use this time to the fullest. Work as hard as you can because it will pay off, you will be happy you did even if you did not want to in the moment. Never give up, always strive to be your best, and work through any hardship because these things are what will help you learn and grow.

One big thing I am looking forward to in the future is that I start Brigham Young University-Idaho this September which I am very excited for!

High School is awesome and I am sad it’s over. However, I am ready for the next part and cannot wait to see where life takes me and because of these past four years, I am finally ready for it.
